Xie Nanxing‘s f o r a d e c a s a #2 is created from two photographs sourced from the internet, exemplifying what the artist describes as ’evidence painting‘. This concept highlights the canvas print technique, revealing the traces of a painting that was placed over the surface we now see. This painting was then removed, never to be shown, and we are left with its ’shadows‘ – evidence of painting having taken place.
