In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the death of Maria Lassnig,
Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana is presenting the artist’s first solo exhibition in Slovenia.
The exhibition at the CD Gallery primarily features Lassnig’s drawings – almost 80 works from the artist’s estate – but also several oil paintings and short animated films. The selection of works traces Lassnig’s long career from the 1940s to the 2010s.
Cankarjev dom is publishing a catalogue (Slovenian/English) to accompany the exhibition, which provides a comprehensive insight into the great significance of drawing in Maria Lassnig’s oeuvre. With texts by Peter Assmann, Katarina Hergouth, Claire Hoffmann, Peter Pakesch, Sonja Reiser-Weinzettl, Tomislav Vignjević and Johanna Ortner.
