The new free standing sculpture appear as a black cylinder, solidly standing in the space. The powder-coated steel structure is covered with interwoven black leather belts, that have been attached to it with iron bolts. The usage of materials, precisely leather belts, refers to their cultural symbolism of discipline, power and masculine dominance. At the same time the belts texture does not cover the structure completely, instead of meeting each other’s end they open up, partly revealing the plain cylinder, in what might look like a cascade of leather pieces. This might lead the viewers’ thoughts to the fragile basement today’s societies are built on.
