Rosaceae is the music project of Berlin-based visual artist Leyla Yenirce, in which she explores the sonic aspects of military, media, and cultural power structures. For Paradise Must Be Nice, Rosaceae will perform alongside Solomon Garçon for the first time at the Zwingli Church.
Rosaceae works with elements of noise and ambient music and draws on speech samples and vocal improvisations. Most recently, the album Souvenirs (2024) was released as part of the ‘Eye Level’ exhibition at the Petzel Gallery in New York City, the album ‘DNA’ was released in 2021 on the Hamburg label Pudel Produkte of the Golden Pudel Club, and the composition Helbest was released on Deutschlandfunk Kultur. Rosacea's works have been performed at the Noisexistance Festival in Hamburg, the Elbphilharmonie, the Berliner Festspiele, and the Münchner Kammerspiele, among others, and include audiovisual and performance elements. Solomon Garçon is a performance and sound artist currently living in Berlin who explores digital infrastructures as spaces for experimentation. Together with British producer John T. Gast, he is part of the music project Do u want to move back to ldn.
