'Diseuses de silence' (Group Show), Espace Monte-Cristo - Fondation Villa Datris Paris
April 18 – December 13, 2026

From April 18 to December 13, 2026, Espace Monte-Cristo presents Diseuses de silence, an exhibition offering a contemporary perspective on our collective history. Through the voices of 21 French and international women sculptors, these modern-day Scheherazades bring shared narratives to life and pass on a legacy—our own.

The artworks selected from the Collection Fondation Villa Datris explore the most forgotten corners of our mythologies and fill in the gaps of contemporary narratives with fierce icons of creation, like those of Prune Nourry’s Venuses and Jeanne Vicerial’s guardian figure. These women’s voices—such as those of Niki de Saint Phalle and Suzanne Husky—warn us of struggles still to be fought and hard-won gains that must be protected to avoid repeating the missteps of the past. And when, in the manner of Andrea Bowers and Miss.Tic, they dismantle the wall of silence brick by brick, it is in order to render audible the history that must be reauthored today.

For the Carte blanche spotlight, Yosra Mojtahedi constructs a symbolic universe in which each element refers to the figure of Mother Earth and to renewed understanding of the body. Conceived as a fusion of human and nature, Mojtahedi’s L’Isthme noir is an immersive landscape conveying a quest for harmony. L’Isthme noir functions as a cosmos, a space of memory and transformation, engaging the mystery of our origins and testifying to a future where our inheritance is yet to be written.

Highlighting conversations among the works, the Voices of Silence journey is punctuated by contemplative installations and joyful mises en scène that guide visitors to discover moving, inspiring narratives. As a coherent sensory experience, the exhibition seeks to empower all those who wish to change the trajectory of the present.
