The Different Places project, co-organized by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, is an exhibition exploring solidarity, unity, and relationships between Ukraine and Poland. The exhibition, which will be on display at the National Art Museum of Ukraine in Kyiv until 10 August 2025, features works by Polish and Ukrainian artists, highlighting the differences between war and peace, presence and distance, and the impact of war on art. The exhibition is the first of Polish contemporary art to be presented in Ukraine since the outbreak of full-scale war in 2022, and aims to normalize artistic life in a country ravaged by war. The exhibition also features Ukrainian artists with military experience, who have created symbolic images of the sky and video portraits of silence. The exhibition aims to overcome fear of other countries and integrate Ukraine into the European cultural sphere despite the extraordinary situation.
