'Leyla Yenirce, Mazlum Nergiz: Troubadour 2' (Performance), Wiener Secession,
August 12, 2025, 8pm
Leyla Yenirce and Mazlum Nergiz invite the public to the sound performance Troubadour 2. An incomplete compilation of everything that has influenced Nergiz meets Yenirce in the flesh, her body and sound. Together they create an auditory séance that probes the strain of wrestling with language and sound. They want to play and narrate at the same time. How do you do that? Delicately and with radical beauty. Expect them to make noise.

Leyla Yenirce is an interdisciplinary artist and musician working with painting, sculpture, video, and performance. Her art fuses what are often incompatible opposites: feminism and war, yearning and irony. Yenirce lives and works in Berlin.

Mazlum Nergiz writes prose, essays, and plays. In the fall of 2023, MÄRZ Verlag released his graphic novel KOMA. He and Enis Maci directed the play KARL MAY for the Prater Studios on Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, Berlin. The essay of the same title was published by Suhrkamp in the edition suhrkamp series in the spring of 2024. He has been a member of the steering committee at Schauspielhaus Wien since the 2023/24 season.
