Wojtek Fibak's collection is one of the most valuable and oldest private collections of contemporary art in Poland. The works of representatives of the Paris School and the Polish post-war avant-garde, collected since the mid-1970s, have been joined in recent years by works of young generation artists. The exhibition Wojtek Fibak's Collection. New Generation at the Mazovian Centre for Contemporary Art Elektrownia in Radom is an opportunity to take a closer look at this important part of the collector's collection.
The exhibition consists of nearly 80 works by 31 artists - those who completed their educational process in art schools after 1989, i.e. in free Poland. Among them are both people recognized in Poland and around the world, as well as young, outstanding ones, who are the hope of Polish art. The presented works lead the viewer through various creative attitudes and the richness of topics raised by the young generation - from the exploration of identity, gender, through reflection on the condition of society, the role of technology, to questions about the future. They are a commentary on social problems such as globalization, climate change, and relationships. They provoke questions about the boundaries of art, the significance of images in the era of universal digitalization, and the role of the artist as a commentator on contemporary social phenomena.
