The wild thinX *festival will take place in Salzburg from May 16 to 18, 2025. Venues include Fünfzigzwanzig, the Salzburg Art Association, the Initiative Architektur, and Linderhof Palace.
The research festival "opens up – against the backdrop of current violence and political excesses – a speculative space for a new approach to the built and natural environment. Nonconformity is also understood in this context as a resistant practice that positions itself against permanent renewal and in favor of fluid spatial strategies: What was nonconformist yesterday is already conformist to form or norms today," the announcement states. The program consists of a symposium, workshops, performances, music sets, an excursion, and exhibition openings. With contributions from Maria Thereza Alves and Chám Krai Kytõm Pandã Grét, Clare Barlow, Andrea Bowers, Nicolas Cilins, Elio Choquette, Theo Deutinger, Dose of Pleasure (Alvin Collantes), SE Eisterer, Tania Gheerbrant, Jack Halberstam, Mwangi Hutter, Göksu Kunak, Gordon Matta Clark, Tati au Miel, Hiroharu Mori, Plalace of Un/Learning, Prenninger Kreis (Herbert Eichholzer, Axl Leskoschek, Anna Lülja-Praun), Behnji Ra, Wenke Schladitz, Draper Shreeve, Mikołaj Sobczak, Rebecco Ann Tess, Sergio Villanueva Preston, Christoph Wagner, Matthias Weiß, Damon Young.
