Lichtparcours Braunschweig (public project), Brunswick, Germany
June 15 – October 6, 2024

Brunswick's Department of Culture and Science is launching a collection campaign with artists' collective Luzinterruptus to collect old household plastic containers and bottles for art. The containers should be transparent, brightly colored, rinsed, and without lids. The campaign will take place from April 4 to 22 at the City Library, Tourist Information Office, and ALBA Customer and Environmental Center. The plastic parts will be used to create the "(Plastic) Full Moon," a seven-meter-tall moon sphere that encourages reflection on our planet's excessive plastic consumption and resource demand. The light trail Brunswick 2024 aims to encourage the closing of the gap between technological development and responsible use of light, drawing attention to the little-noticed or unknown, offering new perspectives, and inspiring debate and innovation.

15 international artists were invited to create artistic interventions for the urban space, which will be presented along the Okerumflut between June and October 2023. The exhibition at the Kunstverein Brunswick will reveal the planned artistic work process.
