Hot, Chill & Feisty Brazilian Green (2025) is a new series of sculptures that feature delicate colored glass facsimiles of classic English coat and hat hooks, rendered in an almost ethereal materiality. Molded, cold-worked to be perfectly smooth and translucent, they seem like an almost ethereal materiality. From these hooks, instead of coats or hats, panties have been tossed on, maybe in a hurry or in a moment of enthusiasm, expressing a sense of independence and self-empowerment. With Hot, Chill & Feisty, Bonvicini continues her exploration of how intimacy is constructed, performed, and displayed negotiating the ambivalence between voyeurism, exposure and control.
