The adapted work Semblance will be presented in room A1-05 and consists of two antique grand pianos suspended and joined at their keyboards. Wrapped in roofing asphalt and cut open...The adapted work Semblance will be presented in room A1-05 and consists of two
antique grand pianos suspended and joined at their keyboards. Wrapped in roofing
asphalt and cut open with a central oculus, the assemblage transforms the instruments
from symbols of bourgeois culture into precarious, reimagined forms. This act of unveiling
creates a charged sense of instability, where balance, tension, and transformation remain
in constant play. For this exhibition, the work will be restaged with an additional vessel
made from tilted stage elements attached with ecophon tiles.
