Stavanger art museum has received a gift by Trond Mohn consisting of 67 international works of art. Several of the artists in the collection were born in the 1980s and represent a generation of recently established artists who capture the trends of their time. The collection is built around a principle of including one work by each artist. In terms of artistic media, the collection spans a wide range, including paintings, sculptures, installations, video works, textiles and photography.
Only a small percentage of the artists are in Stavanger Art Museum's collection already, yet this collection relates in a very interesting way to the museum's existing collections. Trond Mohn's gift to Stavanger gives the museum many strong and interesting works of art which we look forward to showing and which the museum looks forward to working with in the years to come.
