This vase juxtaposes the Polish ritual of “dziady” – a domestic rite of communion with the dead at the end of October – with the ballroom scene, where vogueing becomes a performative contest. By relocating ancestral invocation into a queer choreographic space, the work frames vogue as a contemporary dialogue with forebears, transforming folkloric communion with spirits into embodied, communal remembrance.
